U.S. Citizenship Naturalization Test – 2021 & 2020
There are 100 civics questions on the naturalization test. During the naturalization interview, applicants will be asked up to 10 questions from the list of 100 questions in English. You must answer correctly six of the 10 questions to pass the civics test in English.
Several study tools are available to help you prepare. To get started, see the resources below. Visit the U.S. Government Bookstore to purchase USCIS products and publications.
* If you are 65 years old or older and have been a lawful permanent resident (LPR) of the United States for 20 or more years, you may study just the questions that have been marked with an asterisk.
Certain applicants, because of their age and time as an LPR are exempt from the English requirements for naturalization and may take the civics test in the language of their choice. For more information, see exceptions and accommodations.
