In this informal discussion, Lena Yokoyama, the student host, discusses the technicalities and uses of the Risograph printer with three practitioners: Charlie Abbott (Workform), Anya Landolt (HATO Press) and Tommy Brentnall (Loose Knees). Each practitioner discusses their projects in detail and where the Riso printer plays a role in today’s climate.
HATO press are an independent printing and publishing house in London, helping collaborators to develop and realise ideas, also to produce and distribute their content.
Tommy is the co-founder of Loose Knees and an illustrator, designer and publisher. He graduated from Camberwell in 2018 and pairs experimental methods and perspectives with playful and imaginative illustration.
Charlie Abbott is a Senior Lecturer at Camberwell and the co-founder of Workform, a graphic design studio with a strong and diverse portfolio of work for many differing clients. As part of work-from, Charlie has worked on a riso publication called ‘Original Risographies’.
