Cebuano poetry, or poetry in general, is an art-form that’s been practiced for centuries. Miss Cindy Velasquez, a cebuano poet, believes that the root source of poetry is home. The place where you were from. Your home is your poem. As a proud Cebuano, Miss Cindy’s poems stem from her love of the Cebuano culture. Let’s hear her poetry come to life.
She is passionate with poetry, creative writing, storytelling and teaching. She is currently a Humanities and Literature teacher in the University of San Carlos in the Languages and Linguistics department.
Ms. Cindy Velasquez is well known among her students for her bright personality. She always smiles and always has a story or joke ready to be told. She loves doing volunteer work, especially that which involves improving literacy among children.
