A Proud Heritage: The African American History of the Sourland Region

A 10-20-20 video featuring speakers Elaine Buck and Beverly Mills, two of the founders of the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, speaking with Montgomery Twp. Mayor Sadaf Jaffer. In this video, you will learn about the African American presence in this region dating back to colonial times, which has been left out of our local history. Buck and Mills co-authored a book, If These Stones Could Talk. The book aims to provide a clearer understanding of the African American experience and their accomplishments in the Sourlands, the Hopewell Valley, and the surrounding area of Central New Jersey.
