The word “Soudelor” is of Pohnpeian origin, meaning a leader or chief. And the powerful moniker is certainly justified, as weather officials throughout the world are eyeing this formation as it’s now been confirmed to be the strongest storm anywhere on the planet this year. Super Typhoon Soudelor is expected to make landfall in Asia tomorrow, at which point projections have it as a Category-4 storm.
While we pray for the best for our friends in Asia, we are also praying for our neighbors to the north of us in the CNMI who were slammed by Soudelor unexpectedly Sunday night.
KUAM’s Isa Baza reports from the Emergency Operations Center.
